Local Wine, Local Food, Local Friends...
For Local Cause.
HomePlate Youth Services, the only non-profit provider of drop-in centers and
street outreach services for homeless youth in Washington County, is holding its 5th annual FarmPlate dinner from 4:00-7:30pm (VIP event from 2:45-3:45pm at Apolloni Vineyards) on Sunday, September 20th at the gorgeous "Camp Turnaround" in Gales Creek, OR.
This year’s FarmPlate
event will help raise funds to enable HomePlate to expand its employment services
to meet the increasing needs of homeless youth in Washington County seeking employment. The need for expanded services has taken on a
new sense of urgency; according to 2014 figures, Beaverton has the highest rate
of homeless students in Oregon for the fifth year in a row - and youth unemployment is at a staggering rate of 24%.
is bringing together local farms, wineries, food producers, and businesses to
create a memorable summertime outdoor event that features a farm-to-plate sit-down
dinner and a host of special activities.
